AnOdetoMeat

At Logan’s parent-teacher conference on Thursday, his teacher was full of praise. She said that he was an excellent writer, has organized thoughts (on paper), uses words in clever ways and has a wonderful vocabulary. He also has trouble with talking out loud during class. I was very proud, although I hadn’t the faintest why this child of my should be this way. *cough*

She showed me several friendly letters he had written as an exercise. One was written to the school librarian, thanking her for her helpfulness and for the way she remembers what books people like and tries to find them. The librarian was so touched that she made copies for everyone in her family. Another letter went to some county-wide assessment event where teachers swapped packets of letters so that they wouldn’t be grading their own students. Logan scored full points. I coudn’t be prouder.

I don’t have those letters, but I did find an essay in his packet that I could not pass up. I died when I read it. DIED.

Meaty, tasty, saucy, and brown, Japanese chicken has come to town! Japanese chicken is great! It’s skinny and good with rice. The chicken is pretty twisty and bendy for meat! I love bendy meant! So Japanese chicken is fantastic after all! “Bon Apetito!”

I swear he got that last line from Sid the Sloth.

don't let your meat loaf

Isn’t it fascinating to wonder what careers the children in our lives will eventually take up. What do you think your brood will be?

p.s. The security word below is “trouble”. Oh-oh!
