FamilyDaphne is doing a connect the dots drawing of a snowman, and I asked the boys to help. After a while, I heard, “That might actually be a jeep.”
I sighed. “Daphne, just trace a flipping snowman.”
“Mom, I think he’s onto something—it’s actually a drunk fairy driving a jeep.”
“Well, you would know, just draw the snowman and you’ll find out.”
“Mom, I don’t want to do this.”
“Well, buddy, I can promise you this: finish your homework and there’s a handshake in your future.”
“Sticking your hand in a blender…that sounds…wrong.”
“WAIT. Another one of you was accepted to the Gifted and Talented Education Program and no one told me? How am I the last to know?”
“You didn’t know that?”
“Maybe you shouldn’t be in the program.”
“Look, I got a henna tattoo!”
“Why did you do that?”
“Because she was drunk!”
“Nice.”
“Is it permanent?”
“No, of course not.”
‘Ok, good. I don’t want you to be one of THOSE moms.”

That’s hilarious. Your kids are so lucky you are writing these down! Been reading for a while but wanted to comment because I’ve been trying to campaign to get concerned parents to pay attention to what schools are using to disinfect for H1N1. Many don’t realize that cleaning supplies are often more hazardous than the H1N1virus itself.
