Yes, I have one of those Braun electronic thermometers the nurses use. Sue me. It took nearly ten years of using glass or bendable LED thermometers (take temperature, shake furiously, retake, look up hypothermia to see if 93 degrees is normal, never thinking I should BUY A GOOD THERMOMETER) to get me to shell out the cash.

But, oh, how I love it. I love tracking my daughter over the last three days as she went from 102.7 to 102.3 to 103.7 Saturday and Sunday, to 98.5 this morning, and back to 102.3 this afternoon. It's great fun. We all take each other temperatures while we're at it. I'm hypothermic.

So I'll be keeping Daphne home from school again tomorrow—that makes two birthday parties, two baseball games, one gymnastics class, and two days of school—I just hope my precious Motrin stash holds out now that Dylan has joined her ranks on the couch, under the blankets. Their ears don't hurt, and we all feel the same sort of crappy, so I hope we can avoid the doctor. I am weary of doctor's offices. Honestly.

Sorry to hear Daphne is sick.  Hope she gets better soon.  I’m jealous of your thermometer.  I’m still using the Celcius digital one they used on my daughter in the NICU - seven years ago.  Every time I go to call the pediatrician, I have to convert the temp.

Hi,

Yeah.  I’m still near my computer.  But not for long, one year old needs more something for snack.

Thanks for the comment and encouragement.  And just FYI, I usually DON’T give the Motrin to the kids...you know, all in the name of fever fighting the virus, blah blah.  Has NOTHING to do with the added side benefit of the raised fever MAKES THEM SLEEP.

And yes, the trainwrecks make for great reading.  Maybe I could make one up...now that’d be funny...fictional blogging.
