Me, Me, MeI haven’t been able to muster 100 things--it’s just too free-form for my tired brain--but as a beancounter, I am very good at filling in forms. Here is a meme I picked up from Gina at Atypical Female, who followed her own meme trail…
FIRSTS
First job: Roaming balloon vendor at Chicago Fest ‘83. I was 14, and my boss was a clown, and probably a pedophile. *shudders* Ran my first scam there, too, underreporting balloon sales to the clown. So very Chicago!
First screen name: Mindimer, same as today
First self purchased CD: ABC, The Look of Love
First piercing/tattoo: Both ears, at age 12
First true love: Dominic Mulvaney. He’s getting married tomorrow!
First enemy: I don’t think I have ever really had one!
LASTS
Last big car ride: Tahoe. Total nightmare.
Last kiss: 7:30 a.m., slightly spitty. From Daphne.
Last library book checked out: Naked Prey, by John Sandford. I have such a crush on Lucas Davenport. Mmmmm, Davenport…
Last movie seen: Pirates of the Caribbean, on DVD. Love it.
Last beverage drank: Coffee. Still sipping.
Last food consumed: Banana. Yummily.
Last phone call: Accepted or received? I just let one slide from a co-worker… but I picked the one up from my friend.
CD played: Mixed, home-made CD. Aimee Mann and Randy Newman made my week.
Last annoyance: [pulls up chair and sits down wearily] Do you really have time for this? OK, latest one: I can’t find my favorite mahogany cat-eye eyeglasses. *sob*
Last pop drank: Diet Pepsi
Last ice cream eaten: Has been ages… Oh, I know! It was vanilla, swimming in a pool of the buttery goodness known as Bananas Foster. Mmmmmhmm.
Last time scolded: This morning, by my children, for getting in the shower and going to work, instead of staying in my jammies and snuggling in bed with them all morning.
Last shirt worn: You mean this one? [looks down] Raspberry-colored stretchy tee with crew neck and three-quarter sleeves.
I....
I AM: Very WYSIWYG.
I WANT: More than is within my grasp at the moment, but also strive to be happy with what I have.
I HAVE: So, so much: a beautiful, healthy family, a nice home in a good school district, a fantastic job and even better benefits, extended family that love and respect me, a devastatingly handsome husband, correspondingly gorgeous children, a wicked sense of humor, an incredible friendship with my mother, and a daughter with whom I hope to have the same, a tendency toward clinical depression, an incredibly satisfying creative outlet that keeps me sane, friends all over the world who stay in touch despite the distance, most of my marbles, a wicked right hook, a nasty temper when riled, an analytical mind, a rich inner life, and an intense sense of curiosity and thirst for knowledge that I will never have the time to indulge properly. And, it appears, a big fucking ego.
I WISH: More people could be happy blooming where they’re planted. Assuming of course that there is no more advantageous option for splicing or transplantation.
I HATE: Hate.
I FEAR: Nearly nothing. I know I can survive a lot, and the only thing I think would devastate me is lasting harm to my children.
I HEAR: Every word you say when you think I’m out of earshot.
I SEARCH: Daily for ways to improve.
I WONDER: Where the hell my glasses are!!!
I REGRET: Some things, but none of the big things. They are responsible for getting me where I am today, and I don’t know that I’d change that.
I LOVE: My family, my friends, this blogging thing, the rush of creativity, and doing a job well. And the funny little feeling I get in my tummy when something good happens.
I ALWAYS: Keep my promises. It takes a little expectation management, but I am a stickler for promises.
I AM NOT: An idiot. Assuming that will get you a smack-down.
I DANCE: When I’m happy. My friends used to call it my “Snoopy dance.”
I SING: In the car. All. the. time.
I CRY: Easily. But in a good way.
YES or NO:
YOU KEEP A DIARY: Yep. You’re looking’ at it.
YOU LIKE TO COOK: I love to cook. And I’m good at it.
YOU HAVE A SECRET YOU HAVE NOT SHARED WITH ANYONE: I think that I have shared each of my own secrets with at least one person. It’s a testament to how I feel about those close to me. I have several other peoples’ under lock and key, and will keep them there. You know who you are.
DO YOU...?
HAVE A CRUSH: Of course! I have several. Also, Viggo, Russell, and whoever ends up playing Lucas Davenport, if they ever make one of those movies…
WANT TO GET MARRIED: Desperately. Oh, wait. Have been for 11 years.
GET MOTION SICKNESS: Sometimes, in the mountains, or on amusement park rides. Also, playing Ring Around the Rosie with my kids.
THINK YOURE A HEALTH FREAK: Not in a million years.
CURRENT HAIR COLOR: Darkish blond.
EYE COLOR: Green.
BIRTHPLACE: Kettering, Ohio, not far from the Wright Brothers’ mansion.

I’ve tried to start my 100 Things about 100 times and I just can’t do it. Hope you find your glasses! Oh, and Ring Around The Rosy kicks my butt. By “a pocket full of”, I’m on my keister.
