- Tow car from kindergarten parking lot. Have been occupying prime spot there for two days with non-starting, yet newly refurbished 11-year-old car. Stupid car.
- Remember to get AAA or similar. Cannot afford towing. Stupid repair shop policy.
- Buy lots of Draino. Yes, thank you. It’s a problem.
- Stop using heat and electricity. The bill came yesterday and it rivals the food bill.
- Teach daughter to build campfires in the backyard so she can indulge her sitting-in-front-of-blasting-hot-air fetish.
- Find pressure washer and hose out shed to remove rat skeletons, poop, and stench. Time for it to be functional again.
- Move 20 cubic feet of gardening supplies, snail bait, fertilizer, and implements back into shed and off patio.
- Enjoy patio.
- CALL 1-800-GOT JUNK NOW, WOMAN.
- Stop playing on Wordle!
- Negotiate Wii time with kids so can continue world tour. Figure out how to combine two accounts or how to use the same one every time so you can actually track progress on more than one instrument.
- Curb time spent on Wii, unless it is Wii Fit.
- Place supply of robes, slippers, blankets, gloves in garage/play room. See #4.
- Strip beds and do laundry. Actually put away some of it.
- Pray that if I don’t look at my account, it won’t be overdrawn.
- Mail unemployment claim.
- Sit tight.
- Cross your fingers and spit in your hat.

Holy Bat Poop! Sounds like the same crap we are going through. The only bright spot is that we are both employed right now. I am teaching and my husband does construction and every week we are thankful that there was work. We own a home in central Maine that has been on the market for 2 years and has not moved. We gave up on renting due to the last two tenants ruining our house. Can’t move back because there is no work in central Maine. So here we sit renting a home in Southern Maine both working and no way of paying sky high rent and mortgage. We have already resigned ourselves to the bank taking the house. At first I was completely depressed and having anxiety attacks but when I hear what we are all going through it puts it into perspective. Don’t ever give up writing your blog. It is the light in my day. I really enjoy and appreciate all you do. Take care and sending lots of prayers. Oh, and when I locate the money tree in the backyard I will send you some branches. Take care! Kim

Hmmm… I have AAA and Roadside (through my cell phone at like, $2.99 a month). We had a truck in the ditch due to about 24 inches of snow over the holiday break… AAA was on “emergency status” so since we weren’t stuck with the truck, they weren’t coming out and Roadside informed me that they don’t cover “Heavy Duty” trucks. Heh…
That said, I’ve had Roadside out a couple times when I’ve run out of gas or had a flat, etc… I think they have a limit to 2 calls a year or something… but it’s cheap. (I have At&t).
Good Luck!

I have roadside assistance with my Progressive Insurance. It’s really cheap and believe me I’ve used it. Just last Friday my car wouldn’t start after letting my son listen to a little music while we sat in the car after a short to the store. I talked on the cell phone, he listened and all the while my battery was dying. I had to get a double stroller out of the back and run one mile to my daughter’s preschool. I was still ten minutes late and I still needed to deal with the car. I’m just glad to live in a walkable area.
Good luck with the rest of your list. I always tell my dh he will need to get a second job to pay for the heating bill. He is always turning it up.

I’m stressed just seeing your list! Gotta get that AAA - it’s well worth it when you need it most. We got stuck in CT when we live in NJ and they towed us all the way home. For free!
