I have to say that practically every thing the man does makes him look like an idiot in the rest of the world. Sadly though his half-baked ideas are striking chords with a number of people, both in positions of power and amongst ordinary voters. And I keep meeting/ speaking to Americans deeply unhappy about it all, who either have or want to emigrate.
It’s my understanding that the US gvt withholds legitimate subs from a number of world organisations, including the UN, whereas smaller, poorer countries pay their dues in order to have a voice.
I’m sorry to say that the US gvt looks, to the rest of the world, like and arrogant, mean, bullying child whose parents give him too many sweets, but who insists on eating them all himself anyway. Most of the pundits writing in US national newspapers appear to have no idea of either this or the opinions of a significant number of US citizens.
Hang in there, he can’t possibly get another term, can he?
