Just now, I was kissing my son goodnight as part of the Great Tuck In Ritual when he said, “Whoa, my sheets are all kinds of messed up!”

I said, “Stop that, stop, just wait, better leave this to a professional.”

“But you’re not a professional, because you don’t get paid. That’s what you always told me when I was younger.”

He had me. “Yes, that’s true. There is no pay for this. Thank you. Thank you for that. That’s wonderful.”

He made victory hands as I pulled the comforter up around his neck. “Finally! A piece of knowledge I can use in my favor!”
